A Hemingway Classic with a twist - Cata de vino blanco

Cata de vino blanco

We´re back next week on the 18th of June with one of Hemingway’s classics, with a slight variation. Our colleague Alfredo has prepared three different white wines for our cata de vino, and this is our first time trying some of those white wines. All of our students are invited to try come try them.

In this activity, you will be able to taste some delicious white wine, try an amazing international wine and learn new vocabulary in Spanish.

Our first and best wine is a special white wine made in France, the Muscat White 2022 made by the cave de Hunawihr in Alsace. It is a floral and fruity wine, with a dry, fresh and crispy taste and usually better for aperitif, asparagus and desert. Aromas of fresh grapes linger for a long time on the palate. It´s an elegant and gourmet wine qualified as gold in the international challenge 2023 Muscat.

Then we have two of our local white wines, the Blanco from the Baron de Ley, the uniqueness of the Rioja white varieties. It is made with white Tempranillo from high altitude vineyards with very permeable sandy soils that provide optimal conditions for the production of fresh whites with elegant acidity.

The last one is the Viña de Castro, a fruity white wine made by the Sobreira Vineyard which is in Galicia and Rías Baixas of Spain. This white wine is mainly made with three types of grapes: Albariño, Godello and Treixadura.

Our students know our Cata de Vino nights are probably some of the most fun activities we offer. It is a great opportunity to eat some nice food, try some amazing wine, practice your Spanish and hangout with other students in the school. Some of the school staff or teachers might join too!

All the students and volunteers from our school are invited to participate, please just write down your name on the whiteboard by our school reception.

We can’t wait to see you all there! :)
